Tips for adjusting to your new life as an Expat in Buenos Aires

If you have moved to Buenos Aires to take a TEFL course and/or teaching English in Argentina, the transition is exciting, challenging, and will be memorable throughout your life. Whether this is your first time living abroad or you have done it numerous times before, every country and every cultural will need to get some adjusting to, and there are a few tips on how adjust to your new life as an expat/English teacher in Buenos Aires.
Be open minded: Try to take in everything in non-judgemental manner and do not make comparisons with your life back home; you will find that you enjoy things you never imagined you would.
Be positive: Look at every experience has a positive one even if it is that you missed the bus or took half and hour to explain what you needed at the post office. Every experience will teach you something new.
Meet new people: Try to meet as many new people as you can. Friends and acquaintances will be your connection to a great life in Buenos Aires; go to events and parties, arrange dinners, visit city sights, travel in Argentina, etc, will all be ways to meet both locals and foreigners alike.
Stay connected: Have internet in your home in Buenos Aires or buy a calling card, etc, whatever you need to do to keep that connection with your family and friends back home. Even a small email everyday will ensure that you get one back, an important aspect of any expats life.
Change your life: Try living your life in Buenos Aires like you lived your life back home; if you are a gym-junkie, go to the gym!; if you like to bake twice a week, buy the stuff to bake in Buenos Aires!; if you continue to do the things you loved back home here in Buenos Aires, you will get the best of both worlds.
