Sports in Buenos Aires; Get out of the classroom and into the fresh air!

Teaching TEFL in Buenos Aires? Are you looking for a great way to get out into the city, meet new people, practise Spanish, and get your adrenaline pumping?
Sports are a great way to mix up your routine in Buenos Aires and complete a cultural immersion experience while teaching TEFL in the city. If you played sports back in your home country, it can be the easiest transition to pick up the same sport(s) here in Buenos Aires or a great opportunity to start something new.
Jogging
Jogging is a great way to clear your head, be out in the fresh air, and meet new people. The Palermo parks are a great place to do just this; the park covers 25 hectares of space, including running and biking paths, two lakes with paddle boats, gardens, and much more. The best time to jog here is at night when many locals head to the park after work to exercise; the joggers begin around 5 or 6 and the park stays busy with joggers up until 10pm, sometimes later. Be sure to go with a buddy if you are jogging in this park; the more the merrier (and the safer!).
Sports
There are many fitness clubs in Buenos Aires that are easy and affordable to join and give you the chance to enjoy organized activities, sports lessons, as well as meet new people or join groups or clubs. Some of the most popular sports are soccer, tennis, squash, and swimming, and they can be found in gyms or sports clubs around the city. Finding groups to join is often easy and just takes signing up at the gym, or you can find your own group, with fellow teachers or friends, that are interested in playing a sport a couple of times a week. Fitness is big business in Buenos Aires so be sure to book your courts or fields in advance.
Exercising is a great way to get out of the house, enjoy some fresh air, and meet new people.
