Ready to take time off from the TEFL classroom and head out to the nightlife of Buenos Aires?

In the very eclectic city of Buenos Aires, there always seems to be a myriad of things to do, day or night, week or weekend. A few of the major activities to do in Buenos Aires is listen to live music, enjoy a local show, or head to an international concert, and no matter what your style, Buenos Aires has it.  Rock, punk, pop, metal, tango, classical, folk, and much more, are always on the list of events, but a very special, and not so common to Buenos Aires is jazz and there are two great places to see this bluesy and soul music:  Notorious and Thelonious Jazz Bar.

Notorious
Located in the downtown area, Notorious is a jazz bar, record store, and restaurant all in one and features some of the cities best jazz shoes. At the back of the place is where the jazz takes place, a small stage is where the band sits with a row of seats for spectators, and just behind is the restaurant where you can get a bite to eat anytime of the day. Up front and facing the street is where the Notorious record store is housing more than 60,000 jazz disks. Check out their website for show details: www.notorious.com.ar

Thelonious Jazz Bar

This moody bar is a great place for young people to come and enjoy both classical and modern forms of jazz in a dark and uniquely decorated bar.  From Wednesday’s to Saturdays Thelonious features different jazz artists, shows starting around 9:30, and delicious cocktails being served all night long.  Check out their website for more details: www.thelonious.com.ar
