For four days in Buenos Aires this August the 5th edition of Caminos y Sabores, which translates to Road and Flavours, will once again be in the capital city, featuring exhibits of typical food in Argentina, food and drink tastings, cooking sessions, tourism, and handicrafts.
Since 2005, Caminos y Sabores has been the annual celebration of Argentine cuisine and culture, and this year is no different. One of the main focuses of the exhibit will be on Argentine local cuisine and the connection between each individual province and that province’s typical cuisine. This will be accompanied by tasting the local cuisine, things such as olive oil, cow, sheep and goat cheeses, meats, homemade marmalade, wines, and more.
There will also be a cooking room that will have chefs that are cooking dishes based on typical Argentine ingredients found throughout the country along with a conference room that will talk about tourism, regional foods, economical development, and other subjects related to Argentina and its culture and traditions. There will also be a guest speaker, the president of Slow Food International Movement, to set-off Terra Madre Argentina 2009, which is a network that works to assist the smaller businesses around Argentina and create sustainable food production for the country.
Caminos y Sabores 2009 begins this August 13th until the 16th, at La Rural (Av.SanteFe&Sarmiento), from 12-9pm. Adults AR $20
