5 things to do this long weekend in Buenos Aires

If you are studying TEFL or teaching English in Buenos Aires but looking to take a break this upcoming long weekend (celebration of the 25 de Mayo), here are a few great activities to keep you busy during the weekend and away from the TEFL books!

 

 

1. Go to San Isidro

This beautiful neighbourhood located only 30 minutes outside of Buenos Aires features narrow cobblestone roads, riverside shoreline, shops and boutiques, as well as some fantastic restaurants, and a beautiful cathedral located in the central plaza. You can arrive by train from the Retiro train station or by taxi.

2. Green Bambo

This dark and stylish restaurant/bar in Palermo Hollywood is one of a kind in the city, offering up delicious Vietnamese dishes, the best drinks in the city, and at affordable prices. Not to be missed.

 

3. Palermo Park

If the weather permits, this is a great park to relax in on the weekends. There are always a lot of people enjoying this park on the weekend, great for a leisurely walk, rollerblade, or picnic.

 

4. UniCentre – Shop till you drop

If you want to go to one shopping mall that has everything, this is it. A few levels and several KM of shopping space, this massive mall has every type store you could ever imagine and will leave you exhausted but satisfied at the end of the day.

 

5. Concert at the Obelisk

This Sunday there will be a celebration of the May Revolution with an opening performance by La Bomba de Tiempo, the incredible drumming group, as well as various other national artists.
