Student Health and Safety

At Expanish our students' health and safety during their TEFL program abroad is one of our highest concerns and we continue to educate and update ourselves on the latest information in Argentina regarding these two aspects. We receive regular updates from major foreign embassies in order to react or adjust to any health and safety advisories.

Once students arrive at our TEFL institute, we provide them with health and safety advice for their time abroad in Buenos Aires and Argentina. We focus strongly on prevention as well as offer clear and concise information on what to do in the case of an emergency or any other health and safety related issues. We ask all of our Expanish students to keep our staff informed of any travel plans during their TEFL program in Buenos Aires, helping us keep track of their whereabouts and ensuring that we can contact them if need be.

In Case of an Emergency Abroad

In case of a medical emergency of any kind, students will be sent to the nearest hospital or clinic, in which we will then notify the emergency contact listed on their application. We recommend that all students schedule a general physical examination before they travel abroad in order to address and prepare for any health concerns that could present a problem.

In case of an Emergency at Home

Students may contact Expanish for any reason during regular office hours at +1 888 EXPANISH or email us at info@expanish.com. We also provide each student with an emergency contact number upon their arrival in Buenos Aires that is monitored 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Health Insurance

We strongly recommend that students have an international health and travel insurance plan for the entire duration of their program and/or time abroad, purchased in their home country. At Expanish we offer 2 packages through CareMed International, valid for programs in Buenos Aires or any Expanish destination along with travel throughout South America, which cover medical, legal, and technical services 24 hours a day, every day of the year.

Expanish Student Help Desk

Our bilingual staff members at our Expanish institute in Buenos Aires are available during business hours to help students with any questions or concerns they may have during their program.

Contact Numbers

We recommend that students always keep a list of important contact names and phone numbers during their time abroad in Buenos Aires. These should include the contact of Expanish, any roommates or friends, and a respectable taxi service.

Power of Attorney

We recommend that students with their own financial accounts sign a Power of Attorney form giving their closest of kin the legal standing to administer their finances during their time abroad.
